I was always on the lookout for interesting storefronts.. things to paint. I looked for more than just a department store window. I wanted a scene that told more of a story.

The dresses, garments, shoes, hats, gloves are all “figurative without the figure.” I also am drawn to painting interior spaces, chairs…again figurative with out the figure.”

Eventually I bought a dress form. I borrowed some vintage clothing. Somebody gave me few things. A vintage collector friend modeled for me. I went on theater costume shop tours. I borrowed theatrical costumes from a designer. It took off from there and continues still.
