During Metro Surge Minnesotans did lots of small things. Collecting donations, delivering donations, making whistles, making signs, collecting supplies for children too afraid to go to school. Calling legislators, donating money and spreading the word. ONE SMALL THING.
In Feb of 2026, I went to the sites of Renee Good and Alex Pretti’s deaths. I picked up some dried milk weed from the snow and brought it back to my studio.
I was inspired by the pollinator gardeners who plant one small thing to help the butterflies, bees and the world, and so I continue to paint milkweed.
A donation made for each one sold. Lots of folks doing one small thing.
