Someone once commented, "I think you paint the: unguarded moment...and the space between events."

I've always liked small scenes of people, places and quiet moments. Whether look to early drawings, co-ops or classes, or last week’s travel sketchbook - the thread is there - connecting the figures and places and times.

I love that kind of juicy painting that is loose and alive with color. I find subjects in coffee shops and restaurants - where people maybe working or lost in thought. Store fronts and back alleys, beaches and back yards, the main street or the empty room - I love that certain kind of light, that catches an unguarded moment.
